A century ago Cullercoats on the Northumberland coast was home to an artist's colony that included the American I impressionist Windsor Homer. He was drawn to St Mary's lighthouse, only accessible at low tide, and included it in many of his New England works.
It's as gorgeous and as inspiring today as it has always been
