Making the most of every day
My big brother Martin lived a life full of possibility and happiness. He never let his language and learning difficulties get in the way of enjoyingliving.
‘You & me’ he’d say…. ‘I’m Happy’ and it reminds me always to enjoy the thrill of each and every day.
His condition, Down Syndrome, gave him an special character. We often commented that the extra chromosone of Downs felt like a chromosone of love. And you can never have too much love in the world can you?
So when I’m cycling and painting my adventures I carry Martin in my heart
I love this photo of Martin engaged in the business of pedalling. He’s concerned with the moment…the action of cycling. Not worrying about where he’s headed or where he’s been. He’s in the moment.
We’ve always enjoyed being together on our bikes
Since we were children Martin and I have shared the day to day joy of being together and exploring on our bikes.
